Harold I. June was a Navy pilot who travelled to Antarctica with Byrd in 1928. He conducted several flights of exploration that provided researchers with important knowledge of dangerous regions surrounding the South Pole. This collection includes correspondence from June and recommendation letters for his appointment to Byrd’s team and later for a medal recognizing his service.
