Description:
While a majority of white Americans came to support Civil Rights for African-Americans, the violence that was often associated with the Civil Rights struggle raised strong emotions and criticism. Black Panthers, an African-American militant group, marching with semi-automatic rifles elicited similar reactions as Ku Klux Klansmen burning crosses and lynching people.
